First Grade

First grade is one of the most exciting and memorable years your child will have in their school career! This is when children embark upon new adventures in the world of learning, expanding their horizons and making new friends. This is a year of important transitions, as well as one in which acquiring new skills is extremely accelerated. We are always amazed at how much a child will grow in first grade. Your child will learn how to read, write stories, add, subtract, and so much more. We hope to make your child's first grade year fun and exciting, and most of all, we hope to instill a love of learning that will last throughout your child's educational endeavors. Maintaining each child's self-esteem and building a secure foundation for their future growth will always remain a priority to the staff here at HAW!
